No avatar shall be given a name that contains vulgar or inappropriate content regardless of spelling or language.
All avatars should be given a proper name suitable to the genre avoiding leet speak and internet gargon or abbreviations. Nicknames and callsigns are appropriate in games where the avatar would be more likely refered to as such rather than by their real name. (eg. FPS military games)
An avatar's name is everyone's first impression. Before you have grouped or even said a word to another player an impression is made by the name you give yourself. As this impression is then reflected upon the city and all of its citizens it is our responsibility to ensure that we paint ourselves in the best light possible. If you are of the mind set that names don't matter then it should be of no issue to simply use the random generator that most MMOs include or a quick web search for any of the million name lists found on the internet today. Any will provide you with ample suggestions for the future you.
Vulgarity and crude topics are never to be used in chat regardless of channel.
All channels are designated strictly "Drama Free Zones". Should you have an issue with the game, another player, or life in general it is to be handled in private with either the offending player or with city officers.
All chat communications should be done with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuations in mind.
We live in a digital world where text based communications comprise an astounding percentage of daily interaction. For that reason, extra care must be taken to ensure that our messages convey exactly who we are and what we mean. It is all too easy to forget that with the loss of facial expression, vocal intonation, and body language the simplest of messages can be completely misunderstood, often with disasterous results. Keyboards are a major part of everyone's lives and as such, taking the time to learn to utilize them properly should be a priority for anyone in the digital field. Many free typing skill programs can be found on the web and the extra .001 seconds it takes to type a sentence properly makes all the difference in the world to other users.
Vulgarity, outbursts, and poor speaking skills are all items that would immediately indicate an individual that was not overly concerned with what others thought of them. As such, other's feelings or needs are not at the top of their priorities. While I am not condemning those of this nature, Sanctum was not created to cater to them. Those who truly think of others and are aware of how their behavior affects and reflects on others, they are the people for whom Sanctum was truly intended and more often than not, follow these rules anyway.
Sanctum is a mature gaming community dedicated to providing a safe, friendly, monitored environment.
